Why the name Luisenhof?
Luise Hilgers, whose maiden name was Nix, was born in 1882. She and her husband Bernard Hilgers constructed the building, now known as Luisenhof, around 1910. The couple devoted themselves to farming, which was the family's main source of income until about 1972.
Their grandson, Norbert Maraite, and his wife Therese Pip founded the Hotel Bütgenbacher Hof in 1987. Today, Norbert and Therese live in the right part of the house. The left part of the building was converted into the current holiday home Luisenhof and a conference room in 2024. Thorsten Maraite, who runs the Hotel Bütgenbacher Hof in the second generation, decided to name the holiday home after his great-grandmother Luise.
In the picture, the house can be seen together with the former stables.
